Halloween Hot Dog Mummies
Posted on 10.16.07 by itscrazydelicious @

Here is one called Halloween Hot Dog Mummies. Really simple thing I found if you are in a hurry and just need something quick to make but you want to make sure your kids are going to eat it. So, you make them a little more fun to eat. I got this from the site Kitchen Hints and Tips. It has a couple other great halloween recipes and treats you may be interested in also.

Preheat your oven to 375º.

Open a package of raw bread stick dough and a package of hot dogs.

Starting from one end of the hot dog, wrap it with the bread stick dough leaving just a bit of the other end exposed.

Place onto ungreased baking dish and bake for 14-16 minutes, or until golden brown.

Remove from the oven, use mustard or ketchup to make dot eyes on the exposed hot dog.

Serve hot

Super Strawberry Bars
Posted on 05.27.07 by itscrazydelicious @

I made these for my daughters kindergarten party a little while back and they were a hit! I should have made more actually because they really did go quite fast. I got this recipe from Kids Health.

Ingredients:
1 c. flour
1 c. rolled oats
1/2 c. butter or margarine, softened
1/3 c. light brown sugar
1/4 tsp. baking powder
1/8 tsp. salt
3/4 c. strawberry jam

Utensils:
oven (You’ll need help from your adult assistant.)
large bowl
square (8″ X 8″) pan coated with nonstick spray
large spoon
knife
measuring cups and spoons

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (180 degrees Celsius).
In a large bowl, mix everything together except the strawberry jam.
Measure out 2 cups of this mixture. Leave the rest in the bowl, and set it aside.
Take the 2 cups of the mixture and press it into the bottom of the pan. You can use your hands or a spoon. Make sure you cover the entire bottom of the pan!
Using a large spoon, spread the strawberry jam on top of the mixture in the pan. Spread it evenly all over.
Take the mixture that was left in the bowl, and spread it over the strawberry jam. Press it down lightly.
Bake for 25 minutes. Remove the pan from the oven, and allow it to cool for at least 15 minutes.
Cut the bars into 12 squares to eat and share!
