I do not know about you but I like to keep my fridge and my freezer as clean as they can get. But I find when I go to clean the freezer I never really get anywhere because the paper towel will freeze up or stick or the liquid that is on the towel with freeze or dry up. Here is a tip…just put a little dab of glycerin on a rag and it should clean up any mess in your freezer…even the stickiest of messes! Filed under: Cleaning Tips Comments: None |

Here is a great idea especially if you already just love the smell of coffee. My husband loves the smell of coffee throughout the house and he just loves to drink it. Me on the other hand…I like it but not like him. Anyways put some fresh or even used coffee grounds in a bowl and in the freezer over night and in the morning that stinky smell will be gone. I sometimes add a little vanilla extract too. Be sure to get rid oft he cause of the odor! Filed under: Cleaning Tips Comments: None |

I just love to go berry picking. I prefer to go strawberry picking more so than blueberry picking however either way I come home with berry stains on my hands that just seem like it is never going to go away. If you berry stains do not come off with soap and water try a lemon or lemon juice. It really works in a matter of minutes you will have not stains on your hands! This is a great tip that has saved me so much time cleaning. If you have a terrible messy pan that you know will take you either 3 hours to scrub or a week to soak it out. Then here is what you do. You go do a load of laundry and dry it and use that fabric softener. Take the sheet when you are done and put it in the pan filled with water. After an hours of it soaking it will be a breeze to clean. I don’t use a new softener sheet because I figure … why waist one! Filed under: Cleaning Tips Comments: 1 Comment |

It is just very important to make sure that you keep that stove clean not only for sanitary reasons but because it looks nicer also. My grandfather just got his first flattop stove - he is not used to it at all but he got this kind instead of the ones with the coils. He likes to have a clean stove so he is just constantly cleaning it…which is not a bad thing though. Filed under: Cleaning Tips Comments: None |

It is always a great idea to get new pans every once in a while. Which is why I think that Walmart and places like Walmart are a great place to get these sort of kitchen supplies. It is just far easier to go out and get that new pan than to have to scrub it and you never actually get it all clean. So if you have brown and black stains on your cookie sheets then go to Walmart - I just got on for $4….can not go wrong because it cost more for the SOS pads to clean it with! You should always clean your cutting board and the best thing to clean it with is Hydrogen Peroxide - it will definately get all of the germs and bacteria off. Just take a paper towel and just wipe it off and you will all set. If you cut chicken or meat you really need to clean it off before the next time you use it - you wouldn’t want to get salmanella poisoning because you didn’t clean it up! I am always cleaning my oven … and oven cleaner really does work. But it also has other uses that I was very happy to find out about and use. I use a curling iron on a regular basis and if you use a curling iron as well as hair spray or some other sort of hair gel or product then you know how gross your curling iron could get. Try cleaning your curling iron with your oven cleaner. It works - my curling iron had so much residue and gook on it and now it doesn’t! Filed under: Cleaning Tips Comments: None |

My sister loves to wash with cold water and I just do not think it cleans very well. Her dishes always look cloudy and I am always telling her to wash with hot water but it hurts her hands. So here is a tip for all out there like her….invest in some really good rubber gloves and then you will not have to worry about your hands. You should be wearing gloves when you clean things anyways so you hands do not get chapped or dry especially this time of year. Filed under: Cleaning Tips Comments: None |

If you do not have children but know someone that does and they will be coming over your house to eat with your for the upcoming holiday seasons or even if it is just the spur of the moment do not get worried about your floors. I know…you just got that new floor or you pride yourself in keeping your floors perfect you do not want some kid to single handedly destroy hours and hours or cleaning. Just take that old vinyl shower curtain and put it under the chair they will be sitting…makes for an easy clean up!! Filed under: Cleaning Tips Comments: None |

It is very important to keep your dishes, pots and pans clean. So that also means that you really want to make sure that you keep your dishwasher clean as well! You can go out and spen $10 on a little thing of rinse aid which is great stuff but sometimes you just do not have that extra cash. Try a packet of lemonade flavored Kool Aid in the soap drawer and then run your empty dishwasher in a hot water cycle. It should make it white, clean and sparkly!! Everyone wants to have that nice and shiny kitchen chrome and if you do not have those over the counter or special clensers iwth the abrasives that are created just to shine things up then you may just want to try this…it actually works! And is a lot cheaper…Get some non gel toothpaste and put it on the chrosm - polish and buff the chrome with a dry cloth…it makes it shine! Filed under: Cleaning Tips Comments: None |

It is just so important to keep your appliances clean. So that the next time you go to use them they will not be all gross. That is why many people forget about and do not use all there cool appliances. If you have a waffle maker the best thing to clean it with is an old soft toothbrush…it works wonders. And if you do not want to have to do a heaviy cleaning everytime that you use it just be sure to wipe it with a little oil before you use it…that way nothing will stick to it!
