Wiener Sauce
Posted on 05.27.08 by itscrazydelicious @

There is nothing like this time of year to start cooking up things on that bbq. There is one thing that I just love is weiners. There is nothing like weiners with a bag of chips and then an ice cream cone for dessert! It is just summer to me and brings back many summer memories. But there is something in the weiner sauce…you can not just put ketchup and mustard on a weiner…you need that meat sauce. That is what makes a weiner so great! Here is a recipe that I came accross…test it out to see if you like it.

Texas Wiener Sauce

1 lb. lean ground beef
1 6 oz. can tomato paste
6 beef bouillon cubes which have been dissolved in 3 C. hot water
1 fresh onion, chopped (or 1 tablespoon dehydrated onion)
1/2 T. black pepper
1 T. chili powder
1 T. paprika
1 T. dried oregano
1/2 T. dried thyme
1/2 T. dried marjoram
1 clove garlic, minced
2 T. Worcestershire sauce

Brown beef in large skillet. Stir in tomato paste and water-bouillon mixture. Add remaining ingredients; cover and simmer for one hour. Serve on hot dogs with mustard and chopped onion. Sauce may be frozen.

I found and have used this recipe from http://www.razzledazzlerecipes.com/memorialday/texwiener.htm
Personally, I don’t like the paprika in it though. You have to play around with it for your own taste.

Sugar Glazed Pecans
Posted on 12.08.07 by itscrazydelicious @

Here is a recipe that I just did last weekend. I had to make appetizers for my grandparents Turkey dinner that they were having. They alway do it a week after Thanksgiving so that everyone can come…which is a nice idea. Anyways…this was a hit and everyone loved these. I persoanlly love nuts anyways but man with the sugar glaze it was like candy…so delicious!!! I got it from Recipes.Aol.com

4 egg, whites only
1/2 cup champagne or ginger ale
2 teaspoons salt
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground ginger
2 cups sugar
8 cups pecan halves
Cooking Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 250 F

2. Spray two (15x10x1-inch) baking pans with nonstick coating spray.

3. Separate eggs and in a large bowl whisk egg whites.

4. Add ½ a cup of champagne or ginger ale, salt, cinnamon, ground ginger, sugar and pecan halves.

5. Now fold this together until the nuts are evenly coated.

6. Spread the mixture out onto the baking pans.

7. Bake at 250 degrees for 1 to 1 1/2 hours until the coating is absorbed and the pecans appear dry, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.

8. Separate the pecans into a single layer with two forks.

9. When they are cooled store at room temperature in an airtight container

Peanut Butter and Chocolate
Posted on 10.31.07 by itscrazydelicious @

I just love peanut butter and chocolate together. Here is something that my mom always gave us for snacks. She would just mix peanut butter with chocolate syrup and put it in a little cup on the side. Then she would peel some apples and cut them up into slices. It just tastes so good. Peanut butter and chocolate covered apples….or we use to use it as a dip. It is really good and I made it for my niece one day after school and she liked it too!

Here is a great site that I found that has a lot of great recipes and health tips for parents for their children. The site is called Black Work At Home Moms.
One of the recipes that I was interested in was their Halloween Chips…they looked easy to make and really good to eat…a great combination if you ask me :)

They also have trick or treat cookies and spooky graveyard treats if you want to check out their site before you start making all the food for your kids Halloween Parties!
