Here is a great idea especially if you already just love the smell of coffee. My husband loves the smell of coffee throughout the house and he just loves to drink it. Me on the other hand…I like it but not like him. Anyways put some fresh or even used coffee grounds in a bowl and in the freezer over night and in the morning that stinky smell will be gone. I sometimes add a little vanilla extract too. Be sure to get rid oft he cause of the odor! Filed under: Cleaning Tips Comments:

I used the coffee grounds for that before, but when you’re done, don’t throw them out… just dump them out in your garden or flower box. Worms love them and they’re great for your garden.
I used vanilla for another trick… when you’re selling a home, you can put a little bit of vanilla on a piece of tin foil in a mini pie dish, or make a form of tin foil and put it into your oven. Before you have an open house, or a showing, heat up the oven and the smell of fresh baked ’something’ will permeate the house. I saw that trick on a home selling website.

I agree with the above comment - using coffee grounds as a starting point for fertilization or a compost heap is a great idea.
Another tip for the folks with a garbage disposal - run a fresh lemon down the disposal once a month. It prevents the buildup of nasty smells and makes the whole kitchen fresh!

You could use a programmable coffee maker to go off every now and again so get the aroma in your house too. That way, you could drink it if you wanted :).
