<description>You're so right. Bad nurses should be kicked out. They now know that when someone enters a sick person's room, their thought and their kindness can actually change the chemistry of a person's body.
I've seen bad nurses actually make people sicker. Nursing is about service, not servitude. The best nurses enter your conscious space and recognize your home even if it's a hospital room. Nursing is definitely a calling, but with the pay so high, many people are taking up the nursing skills even when they're not really the kind of person that likes to give.
You have to be careful in nursing because you can give too much and not help the person, but nursing is a major extension of motherhood. So it's good for women that have never had the opportunity to have children. When you give service, it brings back supply to you giving you everything you need and more. Love is the basis of all nursing. Without the love and caring issues you're a caretaker, but you're not nursing someone back to health. People won't stop and take time for them selves. They wait until their face is on the ground. All you do as a nurse is turn them over and have them look upwards, relax, and let their body heal itself. I love the nurses I work with, but we do have a stinkery one on board and none of the patients want her. I'm afraid it shows in your work when you're not popular... people will even hit you...lol But people never hit those who love and are loving to them. Even if you are faced with a psychotic person, love will walk you right through it. Nurses go where angels fear to tread and see the things that most people don't even know exist. And these qualities aren't just for women. The trick is to love impersonally, to love unconditionally, and to serve God and mankind.
You might think that you can't do that and that it's not for you. However, when you come to the point of being self LESS, giving up SELF, and being controlled by a higher sense of love than a human sense, it becomes higher than compassion... it becomes healing.
Hope this helps... I bet you could be a nurse...
